Thinking of Autumn

I love this time of year, crisp mornings, beautiful colours and this year a little Indian summer without the pollen!!The Beauty of the Earth Suite is a real autumn delight. The designer series paper encompasses all the rich colours autumn brings, together with my favourite Misty Moonlight.

The Colour Combination

The DSP is so versatile I've been using it all year but the stamps and dies have been sadly neglected. I decided I wanted the leaves to look like they were just starting to turn golden with a rich coloured background, adding some vellum for the autumn mist.

Materials

Mossy Meadow A6 book fold card blank

Merry Merlot card stock 10cm by 14.4cm

Beauty of the Earth DSP background 9.5cm by 13.9cm, tree trunk 10cm by 12cm, tree canopy 9.5cm by 8cm

Vellum card stock 4cm by 15cm

Basic White 10cm by 14.4cm for the inside plus a scrap for the sentiment

Early Esspresso scrap for the birds

Brushed Metallic Adhesive Dots

Your usual craft kit

Instructions

Prepare your materials, stamp your sentiment then die cut all the elements

Attach the background DSP to the Merry Merlot card. To attach the Vellum position it in the bottom third of your background fold the excess to the back and fasten it with tape as shown below.

Glue it to the front of the card and the Basic White piece to the inside.

Assemble the tree, adding the birds, then attach it to the card, add the sentiment using Mini Dimensionals.

I finished the card using a few Brushed Metallic Adhesive Dots in bronze copper and gold.
